Position Description:
Responsible for underwriting Primary Casualty business including Workers' Compensation, Automobile/Truckers Liability and General Liability for insureds within the Transportation industry. Programs underwritten will range from Guaranteed Cost to large Loss Sensitive options.
Workflow comprised of, but not limited to :
• preparing rating instructions
• loss rating
• security calculations
• pricing analysis
• program documentation
• preparation for audits
Must be able to coordinate the varied aspects of an account between loss control, claim service, actuarial and underwriting. Candidate should possess a thorough understanding of loss rating, underwriting concepts, claims and loss control practices.
Should be able to identify and target new business through the development of broker/client relationships.
Refers cross-sell opportunities and declined business to other AIG divisions, as appropriate.
Position Requirements
3-5 years insurance experience.
Bachelor's degree in business or related field.
Working knowledge of WC/GL/AL underwriting concepts, techniques and compliance requirements.
Experience in Guaranteed Cost and Loss Sensitive program structures.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in underwriting systems and Microsoft Office applications.
Strong marketing and communication skills.
Ideal candidate will have established relationships within the broker community.
Professional insurance designations (CPCU, ARM, CIC, etc.) are a plus.
