Position Summary:
AIG has an opportunity for a Senior Underwriting Specialist in our Property division.
Performance Objectives:
-Assume an active role in all aspects of the segment’s business, including marketing, risk evaluation, proposal development and binding of accounts.
- Responsible for marketing and underwriting surplus lines property business including Construction through brokers in the Western Region.
-Manage and grow a challenging book of business as well as underwrite and market property products.
Position Requirements
The Ideal Candidate Should Have:
-A minimum of 10 years of progressive underwriting Property business.
- Motivational skills, team worker as well as the ability to work on own initiative.
- Outcome focused, self motivated, flexible and enthusiastic.
- Knowledge of the market, portfolio management, acquisition and distribution.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment making quick decisions while adhering to a sound underwriting discipline.
- Ability to manage time effectively, meet deadlines and prioritize.
- Strong interaction internally and externally with successful relationship building skills with staff, clients and brokers.
- Travel as required.
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Computer skills in Excel, Word and Mail.
