Position Summary:
As an Underwriting Specialist in our Commercial Casualty division you will have underwriting responsibility for Commercial Risk accounts in the Los Angeles region.
Performance Objectives:
- Maintain and service assigned renewal portfolio and meet new business production objectives.
- Aggressive marketing and cross-selling to achieve production goals and strategies.
- Maintain and develop broker relationships, identifying new business opportunities for this division, plus cross-sell opportunities for other AIG divisions.
- Analyze and underwrite accounts, adhering to division guidelines, utilizing appropriate systems for quoting, binding, policy issuance and sales & marketing functions.
- Travel throughout assigned territory as required.
Position Requirements
The Ideal Candidate Should Have:
-5+ years of casualty experience including workers compensation, general liability and automobile liability. Excess experience a plus.
-A Bachelors Degree (or equivalent).
-Knowledge of all types of program structures including guaranteed cost, deductibles, self-insured retentions, captives and retros.
-Advanced analytical and quantitative skills.
-Strong influencing and communication skills and the ability to work across multiple areas of the company.
-Prior experience marketing in the Los Angeles region a plus.
