Position Description:
Position includes underwriting responsibility for Primary Casualty National Accounts (minimum $700 million in global sales). Duties would involve teaming with internal resources/ departments - UW Management, Sales, Credit and Actuaries – to evaluate and structure Loss Sensitive Workers Compensation, General Liability and Auto Liability programs.
Additional responsibilities include:
Making independent sales calls to market the business unit's products and to develop new opportunities for the business unit (as well as for other Casualty units) in the Mid Atlantic territory (PA,MD,DE,VA)
Ensuring that underwriting files for assigned accounts are properly documented to meet the standards of both internal and external audit
Maintaining positive relationships with the units key brokers and clients to ensure that the unit's results meet or exceeds the targets assigned by management
Conducting audits and performing quality checks on the work of other underwriters
Position Requirements
Minimum of 3 years of relevant underwriting or broking experience
Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong math skills
Proficiency with Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Ability to quickly master new proprietary pricing models and underwriting systems
Effective organization and time management skills
Must be able to monitor and influence the work of others, exercise a high degree of personal accountability for the unit's business results and collaborate effectively with colleagues and superiors
Must be committed to conducting business in a manner that complies with all relevant ethical and regulatory standards
