Position Description:
Regional Actuary Position within the Chartis Commercial Lines Pricing
Chartis is the leading global insurance organization and largest underwriter of commercial insurance coverage in North America.
The qualified candidate will become a member of Chartis’ Commercial Lines Pricing Team.
The primary area the candidate is going to work on is the Commercial Transactional Level pricing in the Southwest Region, located in Houston, TX.
The Chartis Commercial Lines Regional Transactional Actuary works closely with production-level underwriters and underwriting management to perform individual Large Account analyses for product lines including Workers Compensation, General Liability, Commercial Auto Liability, Medical Malpractice, and Excess / Umbrella Liability.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Work with individual underwriting segments in developing:
• Transactional Pricing - prospective loss estimates for large clients.
• Transactional Reserving – retrospective estimates of ultimate losses subject to a large client deductible.
• Manage conflicting priorities.
• Coordinate with in-house actuarial staff to supply needed information
• Assist in Recruitment and Training of Actuarial Staff
Position Requirements
Minimum Qualifications and Experience Required
• 6 years actuarial experience.
• ACAS or FCAS designation preferred,
• Pricing experience preferred.
• Working experience with Workers’ Compensation, Automobile Liability, General Liability, Professional Liability, or other commercial products preferred.
