Position Description:
Position responsibilities include underwriting and pricing primary casualty business for large National Accounts customers and prospects. Target customers are those with $700 million or more in global revenue. Duties involve identifying, evaluating, structuring, pricing, and negotiating programs for complex casualty risks. The position also requires strategically planning and conducting marketing calls to key brokers throughout the southeast region. Predominant lines of coverage include Workers Compensation, General Liability and Automobile Liability. Program structures are predominantly loss sensitive but will infrequently require guaranteed cost underwriting.
Additional responsibilities include:
-The position requires substantial teamwork with internal resources/ departments including regional and home office management, regional marketing, claims, credit management and actuarial resources.
-Actively manage new and renewal accounts to ensure that underwriting files for accounts are properly documented to comply with internal guidelines as well as all external audit and regulatory requirements.
-Develop and maintain positive and productive relationships with key brokers and customers to ensure that the individual and team objectives are met.
-Work with other AIG underwriting divisions to cross-sell AIG products to deliver coordinated product offerings from multiple product lines/divisions.
Position Requirements
Candidates should have a minimum of 6 years of relevant commercial casualty underwriting experience.
-Candidates must be able to demonstrate strong knowledge of Workers Compensation, General Liability and Automobile Liability coverages as well as related terms/conditions.
-Experience in underwriting, structuring and pricing large loss sensitive casualty accounts is preferred.
-Candidate must possess strong analytical, organizational skills and communication skills.
-Strong personal computing skills are required. Candidate must be highly proficient in a number of frequently used applications including Excel, Word, Power Point, etc. Candidate must also have the aptitude to very quickly adapt to new internal rating and systems applications.
-Candidate should have strong sales/marketing presentation skills.
-Position requires periodic travel to meet with brokers and customers.
-Must be committed to conducting business in a manner that complies with all ethical and regulatory standards
