Position Summary:
AIG has an opportunity for a Reinsurance Analyst in its Claims Division.
Organizational Structure:
This position reports to a Director and works closely with Legal, Claims, Collections, Reinsurance Accounting, Actuarial department and Operations.
Performance Objectives:
-Prepare, analyze and review other staff members’ reinsurance exposure schedules for presentation to management with respect to various exit strategies including commutation negotiations.
-Prepare, analyze and review other staff members various reinsurance related reports for presentation to management.
-Liaise and work with other departments including but not limited to, Reinsurance Accounting, Claims, Actuarial, Underwriting, Legal, and Corporate Comptrollers and other GRD departments.
-Responsible for various projects that may require either independent work or being the team leader among members of the GRD Finance Department.
Position Requirements
The Ideal Candidate Should Have:
-College degree required BA or BS Degree with Accounting or Finance major preferred.
-Excellent written & oral communication skills.
-Knowledge of insurance, particularly with Workers Compensation or General Liability product lines, and reinsurance industry preferred.
-Excellent analytical skills; underwriting experience is a plus, but not required.
-Knowledge of one or more of the following preferred: Schedule F, Claims or Reinsurance. Account Processing, or Reinsurance Collections.
-Knowledge of Excel a must, knowledge of Access a plus.
