Position Description:
Provide leadership for all activities in a workers' compensation technical claim office in support of achieving business strategies and plans. This includes the ability to manage claims staff to ensure compliance with AIG standards, delivery of a high quality product from the team with an emphasis on meeting and exceeding performance objectives and best practices. The AVP is expected to deliver a high level of customer service to internal and external clients.
Position Requirements
Possess excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize projects while managing competing priorities. Must be able to effectively work both independently and as part of a team. Effective decision making skills, including the ability to recognize, analyze, and improve claims performance against standards and goals. Strong technical expertise. In depth knowledge of claim handling procedures, claim performance strategies and claim best practices. Advanced analytical and problem solving skills. Ability to deal with ambiguous situations and issues, evaluate damages and negotiate settlements. Demonstrated ability to initiate and champion change initiatives that leverage technology and improve skills in benchmarking. Creativity in resolving unique and challenging business problems, as well as ability to achieve business goals and objectives is essential. Establish a productive and cohesive working environment that recognizes the customer as central to our effort. Ability to effectively interact with all levels of internal and external business partners. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
